……..Seeks Government Support for Infrastructure Development

The Kobowore of Odo Jobore Kingdom in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Olufemi Olalekan Sunday Ogunbanjo, has marked the second anniversary of his ascension to the throne with a renewed appeal to the Ogun State Government to prioritize infrastructural development in the community.

Speaking during activities marking his two years on the throne, the monarch expressed gratitude to God, the people of Odo Jobore, traditional chiefs, and well-wishers for their unwavering support and cooperation since his coronation.

Oba Ogunbanjo described the journey over the past two years as fulfilling, noting that his reign has been focused on promoting peace, unity, security, and sustainable development in the kingdom.

The royal father, however, lamented that Odo Jobore continues to face major infrastructural challenges requiring urgent government intervention. He identified poor road networks, inadequate healthcare facilities, and a lack of potable water as some of the critical issues confronting the community.

According to the monarch, addressing these challenges would improve residents’ standard of living, stimulate economic activities, and attract investment to the town.

Oba Ogunbanjo disclosed that despite limited resources, his administration has embarked on several community development projects since his ascension. These include the construction of a police post to enhance the security of lives and property, the establishment of a community health centre to provide affordable healthcare services, and the construction of a new palace, all of which are ongoing.

He appealed to sons and daughters of Odo Jobore, particularly those in the diaspora, to return home and contribute meaningfully to the development of the community.

“I want to appeal to the sons and daughters of Odo Jobore in the diaspora to come back home and give back to the town for its development. We also need government intervention in the resuscitation of our market and the construction of a modern community hall. I equally urge all indigenes of the town, both at home and abroad, to remain united and continue supporting initiatives that will advance the kingdom,” the monarch said.

Oba Ogunbanjo reaffirmed his commitment to providing purposeful traditional leadership, fostering peaceful coexistence, and working closely with relevant authorities to ensure that Odo Jobore attains its full development potential.

The anniversary celebration featured traditional rites, special Christian and Muslim prayers for the monarch and the progress of Odo Jobore Kingdom.
