We Have Not Relocated, Ogun Phone Dealers Tell Public

The Mobile Phones Dealers and Technicians Association Of Nigeria, MOPDATECH in Ogun State has debunked remour that it has relocated to Olomore in Abeokuta North Local Government.

The Chairman of the Association, Omooba Obadina Hammed Olagoke , popularly known as Aseyori who disclosed this on Sunday in an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta submitted that Tarmac remains in Okelewo,  Abeokuta South Local Government.

Omooba Olagoke urged the general public to disregard the report that the Phone Mobile Dealers have moved to Abeokuta North Local Government, saying that the report is nothing but untrue.

The Chairman noted that an unknown person built a shop in Olomore and named it Egba Computer Village as to demote Tarmac in Okelewo.

He maintained that the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun and the Council Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez recognize the Association and has been contributing to the development of the group.

Olagoke submitted that the Association has been in existence for 25 years without relocating to any sites, saying that his administration will not allow that.

He said "We want to tell the public that Ogun State computer village is here in Okelewo in Abeokuta South Local Government and not in Olomore in Abeokuta North Local Government. I heard about the fake news that we have relocated which is not true, we are still here and we will not leave here for anywhere, those who are spreading the fake news just want to demote us here in Okelewo, they built shops and name it Egba computer village. The only computer village is in Okelewo and not in anywhere. I want to urge the general public, especially our customers to disregard the report, we remain in Okelewo, Abeokuta South Local Government. It is true that some people met with us that they needed some of our members in that area but our members said they will not go there because their lives and properties can not be secured there, our members want adequate security in which they are enjoying here in Okelewo. He added

The Chairman of the Association informed that Abeokuta South LG  Chairman, Hon. Balogun has been providing them adequate security in the area in which they have no reason of relocating.

He also commended the Olu Ibara Of Ibaraland, Oba Dr. Jacob Olufemi Omolade for his fatherly role and support for the association.

Olagoke also used the opportunity to declare their support for the APC governorship candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, saying that he is a man of integrity and politician with large heart.

He commended the Senator for his support for the Phone Mobile Dealers in the State, saying that they will mobilise massive votes for him ahead of 2027 general elections.

The public relations officer of the Association, mr Razak Babatunde said that the news is a mere fallacy, saying that the only computer in Ogun State village is situated in Okelewo.

Meanwhile the former chairman of the Association, comrade Adebayo Adebowale in his reaction maintained that the news on relocation is fake, saying that that Tarmac remains in Okelewo.
