Iperu Royalist Elites Club has felicitated the Traditional Worshippers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Branch, Iperu Chapter, on the occasion of the 2026 Isese Day Celebration, describing the annual observance as an important platform for celebrating, preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage, traditions and indigenous values of the Yoruba people.
In a goodwill message signed on behalf of the Club, its President, IRE Asiwaju Dr. Adesola ADEWUNMI, congratulated the leadership and entire members of the Traditional Worshippers Association on the important celebration, holding on Thursday, 20th August, 2026, while acknowledging their significant role in the preservation of indigenous culture and traditional heritage.
The Club noted that traditional worshippers constitute an important part of Nigeria's cultural ecosystem, particularly through their efforts to preserve indigenous knowledge, traditional festivals, ancestral heritage, cultural practices, oral traditions and the philosophical values that have been transmitted from one generation to another.
According to the Club, the Isese Day Celebration goes beyond religious observance, as it provides an opportunity for people to appreciate and reconnect with their cultural roots, promote peaceful coexistence, strengthen communal bonds and encourage younger generations to understand and value their indigenous heritage.
“Isese represents an important dimension of our identity, history and cultural heritage. It reminds us of the need to preserve our indigenous values while embracing the ideals of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, responsible citizenship and community development.
“We therefore commend the Traditional Worshippers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Branch, Iperu Chapter, for its commitment to keeping our cultural heritage alive and for providing a platform through which our people can celebrate and appreciate the richness of our indigenous traditions,” the Club stated.
The Iperu Royalist Elites Club further urged traditional worshippers and cultural custodians to continue to promote the positive values embedded in indigenous traditions, while working with other stakeholders to foster peace, unity, tolerance and sustainable development within Iperu Remo, Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
The Club also extended its warm greetings and goodwill to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, CON, on the occasion of the 2026 Isese Day Celebration, commending the State Government for its recognition of the importance of culture, tradition and indigenous heritage in the development of the State.
The Club prayed that the celebration would usher in greater peace, unity, progress and.prosperity for Ogun State, Iperu Remo and the entire traditional community.
The Iperu Royalist Elites Club, while wishing the Traditional Worshippers Association a memorable and peaceful celebration, called for continued collaboration among traditional institutions, cultural organisations, religious bodies, government and community stakeholders in preserving the rich cultural heritage of the people.
