ORI-OMI — In a massive show of political strength and unity, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government Area has formally hosted and endorsed the party’s frontline candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The high-profile meeting, held at Ori-Omi in Sokori, Abeokuta North, brought together all ward and local government executives, alongside key stakeholders from the four zones of Owu, Gbagura, Oke-Ona, and Oke-Ogun.

The event served as a platform to endorse the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the senatorial ambition of Senator Adeola Solomon Olamilekan Yayi, and the candidacies of Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu Omoyayi (Ogun Central), Hon. Olumide Osoba (House of Representatives, Obafemi-Owode/Abeokuta North/Odeda Federal Constituency), and Hon. Babatunde Tela (Ogun State House of Assembly).

Leaders Speak in One Voice

The meeting, described as a "gathering of heavyweights," was led by prominent party chieftains including Hon. Adekunle Adesina, Amb. Sarafa Tunji Isola, and High Chief Ajao Bakai Okedara.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders, Amb. Sarafa Tunji Isola emphasized the need for continuity and experience at the national and state levels.

“We are not just endorsing candidates; we are endorsing the future of Ogun State and Nigeria,” Isola said. “Senator Adeola Solomon Olamilekan Yayi has the clout to draw federal dividends to Ogun Central, and Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu Omoyayi has shown capacity. With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the helm, we are confident that our collective aspirations will be met. Abeokuta North is solidly behind this team.”

Echoing this sentiment, High Chief Ajao Bakai Okedara urged the party faithful to remain steadfast. “The presence of all four zones—Owu, Gbagura, Oke-Ona, and Oke-Ogun—here today sends a clear message: Abeokuta North is united. We are endorsing Hon. Olumide Osoba to bring quality representation to our federal constituency, and Hon. Babatunde Tela to represent us effectively at the State House of Assembly.”

Party Structure Solidly Behind Candidates

The Chairman of the APC in Abeokuta North, along with his Deputy, Alhaja Faidat Akintunde Sarumi, and Alhaji Saba, reaffirmed the commitment of the local government structure to the party’s success.

Other notable leaders present who lent their voices to the endorsement included Commissioner Oludotun Taiwo, Alhaji Habeeb Ajayi, Chief Bode Mustapha, Hon. Ifekayode Akinbode, Engr Tajudeen Isola, Hon. Bolaji Oyesile, Alaga Mesan, Hon. Femi Adiro, Alhaji Adesanya and Many Disttigushed leaders

The leaders unanimously agreed that the combination of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the legislative prowess of Senators Yayi and Salisu, alongside the grassroots connection of Hon. Osoba and Hon. Tela, is the winning formula for 2027.

The meeting concluded with a vote of confidence in the party's leadership and a call for total mobilization at the ward level to ensure victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
