Abiodun's Aide, Dr. Angel Adelaja-Kuye Visits FUNAAB Students, Donates Farm Equipment in Celebration of World Food Day

In commemoration of World Food Day, Dr. Angel Adelaja-Kuye, Special Adviser to the Governor of Ogun State on Agriculture and Food Security, visited students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), where she donated farm equipment to support student-led agricultural activities and promote youth participation in farming.

During the visit, Dr. Adelaja-Kuye engaged with members of the National Association of Students (NASS), emphasising the importance of practical agricultural education, sustainable farming practices, and the role of young people in strengthening food production and security.

As part of her message to the students, she encouraged them to embrace organic farming and adopt the right agricultural practices that promote healthy food production, protect the environment, and support long-term agricultural sustainability. She urged the students to equip themselves with the appropriate knowledge and skills to implement responsible farming methods and contribute to the development of the agricultural sector.

The donation of farm equipment represents a practical step towards supporting students in translating their academic knowledge into hands-on farming experience. It also reinforces the importance of providing young aspiring farmers with the necessary tools and opportunities to explore agriculture as a viable career and business opportunity.

Dr. Adelaja-Kuye further assured the students of her commitment to supporting their agricultural initiatives, promising continued assistance to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and increased youth involvement in farming.

Her visit, held in the spirit of World Food Day, highlights the importance of investing in young people, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and strengthening collaboration between government and educational institutions to address food security challenges.

Through practical support, knowledge-sharing, and continued engagement with young people, Dr. Angel Adelaja-Kuye reaffirmed the importance of empowering the next generation of farmers to build a more sustainable and food-secure Ogun State.

It was gathered that after the visit, the students were invited to celebrate world food day with the Governor at June 12 cultural center and were appreciated for their attendance and active participation in agriculture and onboarded to the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) program as beneficiaries to be supported with inputs,  infrastructure, mechanization and training.
