This was made known during a press conference organised for the 5th Coronation Anniversary of the Onirete of Irete-Ijebu at his palace.
The anniversary is expected to provide an opportunity to reflect on the monarch’s reign, assess development initiatives in the community, and celebrate the cultural heritage and traditions of the people of Irete-Ijebu.
Since his ascension to the throne, the monarch has achieved several developmental projects, including the construction of a police post, procurement of a transformer, construction of a library building, and construction of a modern shopping complex, among others.
“Also, two prominent citizens of the town will be installed as Okanlomo and Kakanfo of Irete-Ijebu. They are Alhaji Olayinka Yahyah as Kakanfo and Chief Ogoji as Okanlomo of Irete-Ijebu,” Kabiyesi said.
Oba Abdulganiu said the occasion is also expected to draw attention to the importance of collaboration among traditional rulers, government institutions, community leaders, indigenes, and other stakeholders in advancing development at the grassroots level.
Speaking earlier in his welcome address, the Tayese of Irete-Ijebu, Otunba Yahyah Ayodele, thanked God Almighty for the life of Kabiyesi, saying that the support from citizens of the town had helped achieve more developmental projects in the community.
Highlights of the event included Miss Oyinkansola Ajayi expressing appreciation to Kabiyesi for being a beneficiary of the scholarship programme provided to indigenes of Irete-Ijebu. It was also announced that King Wasiu Ayinde would be the music performer at the event.
