He described The Premier as a deliberate, ideological and strategic political formation, made up of young, vibrant and progressive-minded politicians — men and women of proven integrity, capacity and grassroots relevance.
According to him, the Forum was established to build a formidable grassroots political structure capable of delivering emphatic electoral victories for its principal, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), and other APC candidates in Abeokuta South.
Majekodunmi further emphasised that the Forum remains committed to consolidating the efforts of the party’s apex leaders, noting that its emergence was never intended to compete with existing structures, but to complement, consolidate and strengthen them.
> “We were formed to complement, consolidate and strengthen the relentless efforts, wisdom and leadership of our apex leaders in Abeokuta South. We are the youthful, energetic arm, ready to translate their vision and directives into electoral reality on the field,” he declared.
He described the Forum’s motto, *“Progress in Unity,”* as its guiding philosophy, stressing that unity remains indispensable to the attainment of meaningful political progress.
*A Legacy of Grassroots Mobilisation*
Highlighting the Forum’s antecedents, the Chairman recalled the successful organisation of *“The Walk for Yayi,”* a massive mobilisation exercise that attracted thousands of party faithful, supporters and admirers of Senator Adeola.
He noted that the procession, which commenced at the historic Ake Palace and terminated at the Skating Ground, Panseke, was colourful, peaceful, orderly and hugely successful.
According to him, the exercise earned glowing commendations from their principal, Senator Adeola, and underscored the Forum’s unwavering commitment to grassroots political mobilisation.
*The Backbone of Victory*
Speaking on the significance of the orientation programme, Majekodunmi said the 4,895 canvassers would undergo strategic training in effective mobilisation, voter engagement, vote protection and their responsibilities as party representatives at the grassroots.
He described the canvassers as the backbone of the Forum’s mobilisation architecture, urging them to discharge their duties with diligence, discipline and loyalty, and to serve as worthy ambassadors of the APC in their respective communities.
> “Today’s programme is another major milestone. This is not a jamboree but a serious intellectual and strategic engagement. You will be taken through rigorous orientation and seminars by deeply rooted, experienced and seasoned politicians and electoral strategists.
>
> “You will be tutored on your core responsibilities as polling booth canvassers — how to mobilise, persuade, protect our votes and be good ambassadors of the APC at your respective polling units. You are our eyes, ears, mouth and legs at the booths. If you do your work well, victory is assured,” he added.
He assured the participants that the orientation was only one of several strategic initiatives designed by the Forum to strengthen its political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections and beyond.
*Goodwill from Party Leaders*
Also speaking, former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, urged the canvassers to approach their responsibilities with utmost seriousness, describing their assignment as critical to the party’s electoral success.
Similarly, the Abeokuta South APC Chairman, Hon. Henry Fagbenro, commended The Premier for organising the programme, expressing confidence that the initiative would further strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and enhance its electoral fortunes in 2027.
In her remarks, another former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni, charged the canvassers to return to their respective polling booths and intensify efforts to promote the policies, programmes and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Adeola and other APC candidates.
