FIRST NEIGHBOURHOOD MARKET BERTHS IN OGUN


The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has commissioned the first ever neighbourhood market for the residents of Laderin workers Estate and its environs in Abeokuta.
The Laderin neighbourhood market initiative is the first of its kind to be constructed by Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s led administration.
Amosun while addressing the people at the occasion, said more of the neighbourhood markets would also be constructed across the State as soon as economy of the State improves, urging the allottees to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities so as to serve its objectives.
In her opening remarks, the General Manager, Ogun State Housing Corporation, Mrs. Jumoke Akinwunmi said Laderin was a growing neighbourhood that needed basic facilities like market which was being provided today for the residents, urging the beneficiaries to keep it in good condition.
‘’Laderin is growing neighbourhood. What we have noticed was the need for basic facilities like market which was being provided today. The provision was the excellent presentation to the community hoping that it would be maintained and kept in good condition’’, she said.
The Baale of Laderin, Alhaji Musiliu Efunyela, lauded the efforts of the State government for making life more comfortable for the residents, appealing for the construction of community primary school and a bus to ease the movement of residents.
In her goodwill message, the Iyaloja of Laderin market, Alhaja Mutiat Anipupo expressed gratitude to the present administration for the provision of ultra modern shops, saying it would enhance trade and commercial activities in the area.
The beneficiaries, Mrs. Okunade Zainab and Olaleye Bolatito (Mrs.) commended the State government for the initiative, saying that it would improve their financial status and accord them the opportunity of having their own shops.
The beneficiaries of both 68 open stalls and 48 lock up shops were urged to take immediate possession of their shops so as to commence business activities.
