EDUCATIONAL DEVT: OGSG PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR INSTITUTIONS

 


          In a bid to further ensure and promote educational standard, especially at higher institutional level, the Ogun State Government has promised to continually support brilliant students and provide ambience learning environment.


          The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun made this promise during the 4th convocation ceremony and commissioning of State-of-the-earth infrastructure at Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade.


          The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu said his administration’s massive renovation of schools was not only to provide conducive environment for students, but to enable schools meet up with global best practices.


          He commended the management of the Institution, for the prudent utilisation of its Internally Generated Revenue towards providing infrastructural development that would aid quality teaching and learning activities.


Let me note that our administration will continue to support and create conducive ambience not only for the efficient and effective service delivery of all our tertiary institutions alone, but to also ensure the realisation of their potentials as capacity builders for economic development.


          Abiodun promised that the best two graduating students for the year 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 Higher National Diploma programmes would be offered automatic employment, urging the graduands to brand and comport themselves with dignity and manners befitting of worthy products of the institution and the State.


          Some of the projects commissioned include, the Prince Dapo Abiodun 2000 seaters Leadership Development Centre, Professor Yemi Osinbajo School of Management Complex, Television Station, Entrepreneurship Development and Skill Acquisition center, among others.


          In his address, the Rector of the Institution, Dr. Isaiah Oyeyinka revealed that the polytechnic had experienced tremendous growth since the inception of the present administration, to include expansion in infrastructure, full accreditation of all programme run in the school, quality of graduates from the institution and so more, which he said has been achievable through the seamless and fertile environment created by the government for the school to thrive.


Oyeyinka advised the graduands to put to good use the lessons of excellence and hard work acquired to better their lives and nation at large by making a difference with their God's given talent.


          Speaking on behalf of the other graduating students, the overall best graduand 2019/2020 academic session, Miss. Solomon Busayo Iyanuoluwa said the Institution has provided them with qualitative learning and prepared them as future leaders.
