Stakeholders on waste management have been called upon to ensure quality service delivery across the nooks and crannies of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

The Executive Chairman of the council area, Hon. Sheriff Adewale said this during a stakeholders' meeting with Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria (AWAMN) in his office at the Local Government Secretariat, Ota.

Adewale noted that it has become imperative for waste managers to be proactive to prevent outbreak of diseases, saying his administration had provided necessary facilities at ensuring a cleaner environment.

“It is time for concerned authorities to prevent indiscriminate dumping of refuse in our area. As a government, we are ready to act and we will facilitate all that is required to work hand in hand not only with the stakeholders but everyone interested in keeping our Local Government Area clean and safe”, he said.

On his part, the Chairman, AWAMN, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Mr. Jolaoluwa Emmanuel, called on the State and Ado-Odo/Ota Local Governments to sensitise the people on proper waste disposal and enforcement of waste management law to help them discharge their duties effectively.
