OGUN MOVES TO REVIVE KOTOPO ‘GREEN HOUSE’ PROJECT

The Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina has led a hierarchy of Agric team and other stakeholders on an inspection tour to the abandoned ‘green house’ project located at Kotopo Extension Work Station in Odeda Local Government Area, with the aim of reviving the project.

Dr. Odedina said the land was a State government's property being cleared to engage young farmers for maximum use of the project, so as to cultivate various crops, to ensure job opportunities, food security and industrial raw materials.

Speaking, a former President, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Lawson, said the body would continue to show interest and partner the government in agriculture, which is the only way out of the nation's economic downturn.

Lawson, who noted that a State that provides food for its people is assured of wealth and good health, added that the project would be a thing of pride once it takes-off fully, appreciating the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration's giant strides in the sector.

In another development, Dr. Odedina has called on youths in the State to take advantage of the Kotopo Extension Station, assuring that the  government was ready to give adequate training and support to any youth that shows interest in  agriculture.
