The Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, has charged the newly-sworn-in political appointees of the local government, to be innovative in thinking, and pro-active in action.

OGUNLEYE gave this charge on thursday, 17th February, at the Swearing-in Ceremony for the political functionaries, held at the local government secretariat, Ikenne.

"Today's event becomes imperative as a result of the belief that bird does not fly with one hand, therefore, the new appointees are veritable tools in flying the flag of the local Government to greater height", said the Chairman.

 He admonished all the appointees that his administration has a huge task of ensuring that the people at the grassroot enjoy the dividends of democracy.

He therefore charged them to be innovative and proactive, by coming up with ideas that will help the administration in achieving its set objectives.

Hon.OGUNLEYE, who declared that the appointees have gone through the required screening by the legislative arm, said all of them were found to be of impeccable character,  possessed the experience, and have the political exposure to serve in the various portfolios assigned to them.

Chief Kayode SODIYAN, an APC leader enjoined  the appointees to be God-fearing, and be dedicated to their job.

 He also urged them to have a united spirit, and reminded them that their primary aim is to move the local Government to a better level.

Responding on behalf of the newly-inaugurated political functionaries, Mr. Olusola OGUNLEYE, Supervisor for Agriculture, appreciated the Chairman for the opportunity given to them and promised that they will all put in their best.

On his part, the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Mr Rotimi OSHINOWO, thanked the Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo ABIODUN MFR; the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE; and the party leaders; for the opportunity given them to serve the local Government, and promised that they will all live up to expectations, and they won't take the opportunity for granted.

The newly-inaugurated appointees  are, Mr Rotimi OSHINOWO, Secretary to Local Government; Mr Bayo SOLESI, Mr Olusola OGUNLEYE, Mr. Abidemi AWOSIPE, and Alhaji Kehinde OGUNNUBI, as Supervisory Councillors; Mr. Ayodele SOPITAN, Mr. Femi OPASANYA, and Alhaja Fausat ADEYIGA, as Special Advisers; and Mr. Olusola OLUDAYO, and Mr. Ayodele OSOKO, as Consultants.

Dignitaries at the event include Hon. Apostle Dave SALAKO, former Member, House of Representatives; Prince Yemi ADEFULU, Chairman, Governing Council, Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Omu Ijebu; Chief Pegba OTEMOLU, former Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government; Hon Kayode SODIYAN, former Chairman, Ikenne Local Government; Hon.
