BPP PAYMENT NOW POSSIBLE WITHIN A DAY

Ogun State Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe has said the registration and payment of Business Premises Permit (BPP), is now possible within a day, so as to improve the business environment and contribute to the prosperity of the State’s residents.

The government automated the registration of the permit by launching a portal, businesspermit.ogunstate.gov.ng, thereby reducing the time involved in the BPP process and payment.

Longe disclosed this in Abeokuta while presenting the first quarter of 2022 budget performance of the Ministry, and its supervised Agencies before members of the State House of Assembly Committee led by the Chairman, House Committee on Commerce and Industry, Hon. Kemi Oduwole.

“Before last year, the processing was done largely manually and involved many steps. But we felt that the processing could be easier for businesses operating in Ogun State, so we established a portal that makes it very easy and in one day everything can be done. You can just go online, make the payment and obtain your certificate easily. For us, this is a game-changer, it has made life much easier for businesses”, the Commissioner stated.

She said the Ministry had recorded a lot of progress, particularly through collaboration with its affiliated Agency, Ogun State Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency (Oguninvest) and would continue to make the State more attractive for investors, lauding the State House of Assembly for its support.

Speaking, Hon. Oduwole appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Ministry for the increase in the rate of foreign investments attracted into the State, saying "we are aware of all these laudable feats and milestones we are achieving in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the State in general, even the way we are having foreign investors coming into our State".

Agencies supervised by the Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment who were also part of the presentation include, Ogun State Agricultural and Multipurpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA), Ogun State Market Development Board, Food Crops and Marketing Board, Ogun State Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency (OgunInvest), Nigeria-Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) and the Ogun State Trading Company.
