ABIODUN TASKS SOSGFA MEMBERS ON MUTUAL PARTICIPATION

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on Spouses of Ogun State Functionaries Association (SOSGFA), to encourage their husbands to continue exhibiting good leadership in the course of administration.

Governor Abiodun stated this while playing host to the executive members of the Association led by its President, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun in his office, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying transparency, modesty, accountability, honesty, and decorum should be seen in people in positions of authority.

He described members of the Association as worthy ambassadors who had added value and kept the flag of his administration flying in the last three years, noting that they had lived up to expectations.

Governor Abiodun commended the leadership style of his wife, noting that the loyalty and commitment of SOSGFA had helped in sustaining the ‘ISEYA’ mantra which had been recording successes in its various activities.

Describing members of the association as worthy partners capable of supporting the government to build a viable future for the State, the Governor urged them not to neglect the home front and should always come up with practicable ideas that would bring more empowerment to the people, while he promised to support the association to make it more functional.

Earlier in her remarks, Mrs. Abiodun commended the government for its giant stride in all sectors of the State’s economy, maintaining that the adoption of Nigeria For Women Programme and the Oko’wo Dapo had become a reference for women empowerment in the country.

Mrs. Abiodun while enumerating some of the programmes embarked upon by the Association said a breast cancer screening outreach was carried out in Ijebu-Ode, commissioning of SOSGFA centre, empowerment programmes for widows, as well as advocacy for policy to protect the rights of women and children, among others.

The first lady, who thereafter presented the Association's compendium titled "SOSGFA - The Journey So Far", to the Governor, emphasised the association’s role in carrying women along in achieving the vision of the government.
