The establishment of Area Community Development Committee has been described as a means of engendering economic and social-infrastructural development of communities across the globe.

The pioneer Chairman of AACDC, Irete-Ijebu in Odogbolu Local Government of Ogun State, Otunba Saheed Olamide Dosumu asserted this during the presentation of certificate and inauguration ceremony of the pioneer executives of Anowoneyo Area Community Development Committee (AACDC), held at the Palace of Onirete of Irete-Ijebu.

While appreciating the Executive Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his sterling leadership and support, Otunba Dosumu lauded the Governor for facilitating the reconstruction of Omu-Ala-Ejirin road which according to him was one of the promises made by the Governor and kept adding that, the event would engendered a new chapter of development in the area.

According to him, "it is crystal clear that the presentation of certificate and inauguration of the pioneer executives of AACDC connotes a new beginning and a new chapter of community development agenda/program that would strengthen our collective development and growth. 

"My dear colleagues, I want you to know that our election into AACDC executive as well as the 39 CDA's executive is not by accident but, a testimony of our hard work and character. We have been destined to be partakers in this new chapter of Irete land and posterity".

The Chairman stated that numerous community development programs and initiatives had been lined up to fast tract the growth and development of the community.

"In the light of this, I wish to state that numerous community development programs and initiatives have been lined up including but, not limited to the following; improving on the security situation of the community; revisiting various committee reports by the past administration on infrastructural development of our community; engaging the youth and the women in all our programs; continuous partnership with neighbouring Communities to cross fertilize ideas and peer learning for possible replication of good initiatives in our Community among other laudable programmes and initiatives" Otunba Dosumu posited.

On his own, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, Mr. Fatai Kolawole Ogunlana, represented by Director of Community Development in the Ministry, Mr. Olanrewaju Fajoyin while congratulating the pioneer executive of the AACDC, implored them to work selflessly and together towards the growth and development of Irete-Ijebu, adding that government would not relent at giving them necessary support at all times.

In his royal remarks, the Onirete of Irete-Ijebu, Oba (Dr.) Awokoya-Yesufu, AbdulGaniy Olusegun, urged the AACDC executives to put in their very best and remain committed to the developmental agenda of the town, while praying that God would give them the needed wisdom to carry out their assignment effectively and efficiently.
