Local Government autonomy has been described as the best yardstick to improve Internally Generated Revenue and promote peaceful coexistence amongst the people in the community.

The Head of Local Government administration, (HOLGA) Sagamu LG, Mr. Olalekan Ogunpitan stated this in an interview with newsmen in his office.

Mr Ogunpitan commended the Ogun State government for embarking on various departmental projects across the state, saying that this has further enhance the socio-economy development of the state. 

He stated that LG is more closer to the grassroot, and knows where the shoe pinches, hence, the need to empower it to function effectively and venture on developmental projects that would favour the people at the grassroot, thereby improving the IGR of the state, saying that this would further instill confidence in the electorates.

Olalekan explained that paucity of fund has rendered the LG inability to function as expected, calling on state and federal government to grant autonomy to the LG for more effective service delivery.

The LG Administrator admonished the staff to be more committed to duty and allow the official conduct to guide them, advising them to make punctuality their watchword.
