ORGANISED LABOUR ASSURES OF INDUSTRIAL HARMONY IN OGUN




          The Organised Labour in Ogun State has assured the government that the State would continue to witness industrial harmony, promising to support the present administration to achieve its lofty goal of taking care of workers and spreading dividends of democracy across the State.


          The Chairman, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Ogun State, Comrade Akeem Lasisi, who gave the assurance while he led a delegation of other union members on a congratulatory visit to the office of the Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun on his appointment, said unionism was no more of banging tables but reasoning, dialoguing and working for the progress of the State.


          Comrade Lasisi appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for giving priority to workers' welfare, saying, "he is fulfilling his promises by not owing salaries, and pensions, completion of promotion arrears since 2018, donation of a parcel of land in a choice area with Certificate of Occupancy and official car to the unions, among others, noting that the Governor has indeed done very well”.


          Responding, the Head of Service, Mr. Fagbohun appreciated the Labour Leaders for the visit, stating that, "Government and union leaders need to collaborate, put heads together and be in partnership. We need to help our employers to help us".


          The Head of Service said matters tabled before him would be looked into, assuring that the present administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, would not relent at making Ogun workers happy always.


          In the meantime, the Head of Service also played host to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, led by its Commissioner, Mrs. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo, Bureau of Local Government Pensions led by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olubukola Adeniregun, Nigerian Institute of Training and Development led by its Registrar, Mr. Kayode Adejumo and Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development led by the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Olayiwola Abiodun.
