2023 HAJJ: OGUN DEPUTY GOVERNOR ADMONISHES INTENDING PILGRIMS TO BE GOOD AMBASSADOR

 



Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has urged intending pilgrims to the 2023 hajj  to obey constituted authority and portray the State in a good light.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele gave the admonition while wishing the pilgrims farewell at the Oba's Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying  the most important thing was to abide by the rules and regulations of the Saudi Arabia authority in the holy land.

She said, " Ogun State people are known to be obedient, represent us well, and most importantly be a good ambassador of the State. I pray that Almighty Allah will accept your Hajj as an act of worship".


On his part, the Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, expressed optimism that intending pilgrims from the Ogun would not engage in any act that could tarnish the image of the State, enjoining them to  make the State proud at all times.


Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda, appreciated the State government for empowering the Board, noting that the support had assisted it to have a seamless Hajj operation.

.Alhaji Dauda assured that the agency officials would ensure due diligence during the pilgrimage.


Earlier in his address, the Chairman, of Ad-hoc Committee of the Board, Dr.  Tajudeen Ashaye implored intending pilgrims to conduct themselves well in Saudi Arabia, urging them to be diligent, help one another in righteousness and follow the instructions of the Board.


In his short sermon, a Muslim cleric,  Imam Abdul-Lateef Ismail advised them to leave Nigeria with good intentions and fear of Allah, to enable them have reward for Hajj.


Also speaking,  the Amirul-Hajj for the State, Prof. Kamaldeen Balogun, in his goodwill message charged the  intending pilgrims to be patient in their dealings and pray fervently, particularly for the new regime in the State and the country.

In his contribution, the Consultant to the Governor on Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Iskeel Lawal appreciated the present administration for its commitment to pilgrims' welfare, urging the intending pilgrims to reciprocate the State government's gesture while in the holy land and ensure that tolerance remains their watchword.
