2024 PROPOSED BUDGET: HOUSING, COMMUNITY DEVT TO GULP N28.886.43B



A total of N28.886.43billion is to be spent on the provision of more affordable housing in Ogun State in the next fiscal year, the Governor has said.


Prince Dapo Abiodun stated this in Abeokuta while presenting the State's 2024 Appropriation bill tagged, ‘’Budget of Sustained Growth and Development’’ on the floor of the State House of Assembly, noting that his administration considered the provision of affordable housing as a basic human right.


He said, "Shelter remains one of humanity's basic needs which must be fulfilled and this administration will ensure there is no housing deficit in the State".


The Governor said the budget is targeted to complete ongoing developmental projects across the State announcing the commencement of new construction of 2,000 units at Lafenwa-Ayetoro road, GRA Ibara, Warewa, Sagamu, Iperu, OGTV village, and Ijebu-Ode.


While highlighting the various achievements in the housing sector in the year 2023 which include the construction of 200 units of high-end duplexes at PMB Estates, Kobape through the Public-Private Partnership arrangement, commencement of the development of Ibara and Idi-Aba Government Reserved Area regeneration schemes, construction of 250 units affordable housing units in Kobape Phase III, 200 units affordable housing in Gateway aviation village, Iperu, 100 units of mix housing units at OPIC Estate, Warewa Isheri and others, promising to do more in year 2024.
