The retiring Statistician-General, Mr. Michael Ajayi has attributed his career motivation to his passion for data-driven decision-making, fueled by impactful projects, collaborations and tangible results

                      The State Statistician-General bade the Ogun State Public service a farewell after a remarkable 35-years of meritorious service, disclosing this at his retirement party at the Valley View Auditorium, Isale Igbeyin, Abeokuta. He expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life and appreciating the State Government for the opportunity to serve.

                      Ajayi emphasised the importance of inquisitiveness, skill updates, data quality, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, stressing the need for resilience, adaptability and a growth mindset to young statisticians, advising them to be focused and creative towards overcoming challenges.

                      Reflecting on his personal growth, the Statistician-General noted significant development through leadership and professional networking, saying he looks forward to family time, hobbies, and community development in retirement.

                      He encouraged future generations to pursue excellence in the public service, stay committed to their values, and continuously learn and grow, counseling those approaching retirement to plan ahead, prioritise their health and relationships, and view retirement as a new opportunity for growth.

                      Speaking,the Director, Economic and Social Statistics, Mr. Bolarinde Abimbola, shared a heartfelt testimony, describing him a man of integrity and that working with him had enriched his learning experience, filled with valuable insights and growth opportunities.

                      Contributing, Area Commander 1, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) Comm. Elias  Omonayajo, described the Statistician-General as a cool, calm, and humble man, noting that it was evident in the way and manner he interacted with coworkers in the office.
