The youngsters have been urged not to pursue careers based on temporary successes but to focus on their education as the foundation of attaining greater height in the future.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, gave this advice in his office while playing host to the Children of IDi-Aro, place of Color,  in commemoration of the World children’s day saying that basic education was needed in achieving life goals and pursuing passion while maintaining educational focus.

Hon. Fagbayi advised that hardworking, dedication in chosen career towards achieving their dreams would contribute meaningfully to the society, adding that the present administration would continue to invest in the future.

Speaking, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Quudus Yusuff, explained various specialisations, career paths and the importance of education in the pursuit of their passion, encouraging them to be resolute in becoming somebody in life.

Earlier, Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Olubukola Samuel, stressed on the importance of formal education alongside passion for Adire Art, understanding the intellectual property and the benefits of a well-rounded education, saying that passion and academic learning could co-exist and mutually enhance each other.

On his part, Deputy Director Tourism Development and Promotion, Mr. Abdulrasak Abdulsalaam, spoke on the ‘Role of an Icon as a role model’ described different icons in Ogun State and encouraged the youngsters to imbibe the spirit of  handwork, mentorship, steadfastness and dedication in order to achieve success in the chosen career.

The Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Adenike Kuforiji advocated for a college of Art at the Kemta Adire Market which would help in honoring the community heritage and contributing to the overall development of the industry.
