A lawyer and Nollywood actor Kenneth Okonkwo has said that the coalition is implementing strategies to oust the incumbent President from power.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okonkwo said some notable people are working behind the scenes to actualise the coalition.

According to Okonkwo, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led by President Bola Tinubu would not know what hit them come 2027.

Okonkwo said, “I’m part of the coalition, the engine room of this coalition that many people don’t know about. APC will not know what hit them.

“A coalition is an alliance for combined action, so it’s open to everybody. In Nigeria, a political party is constitutionally open to everybody, Now if you want to be part of the coalition, nobody is going to stop you,” the former spokesperson for the Peter Obi campaign office said.

He, however, stated that at the particular level the coalition process is at, there are different layers of leadership and committees.

“But I can tell you, the engine rooms of this coalition, a lot of them you don’t even know. APC would not know what hit them, come 2027.

“You know when you’re dealing with the ruling party and you are in the opposition, you have to possess exceptional skills, exceptional attributes; you must have to be strong, not brutal or reckless but courageous,” he said.

Okonkwo added that while an opposition must not be proud, it must possess the confidence needed to head to the polls and defeat the incumbent.

“All the attributes, remember you cannot outdo the ruling party in terms of resources and you have to inspire the people with these attributes so that even when you don’t give them money, they would be convinced,” Okonkwo said.

He warned that despite having these attributes, the opposition must be aware of a certain level of propaganda by the ruling party.

“For everything you show strength, the ruling party with their resources would like to tell the world that you are brutal; whenever you show courage, they’ll want to tell the world you are reckless,” he added.
