The Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful as they mark the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
In his Sallah message, Hon. Alebiosu described Eid-el-Kabir as a time to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for His enduring mercy and benevolence.
He emphasized that the core lessons of the festival—sacrifice, faith, and total submission to the will of Allah—should continue to guide the lives of the faithful in their relationship with both God and fellow human beings.
Reflecting on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir, the Chairman highlighted the unwavering obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) who was willing to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, in obedience to Allah’s command—a test of faith that was ultimately rewarded when Allah provided a ram in Ishmael’s place.
He urged Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim, including steadfast faith, sacrifice, piety, patience, and humility.
Hon. Alebiosu also called on the Muslim Ummah to use the sacred occasion to offer prayers for the peace, unity, and progress of Nigeria, particularly under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun.
“Let us reflect on the essence of Eid, remain devoted to our faith, and continue to pray for the prosperity and development of our dear nation and state,” the Chairman stated.
