The 2025 Annual General meeting of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) was a memorable events for Ogun State members of the Institution as members won various posts at the National Election held at Enugu State Conference Centre.
Various positions sought were the posts of the Deputy President, Secretary Board of Fellows and Assistant Secretary General of the Surveyors Wives Association of Nigeria (SWAN)
The Office of the Deputy President was contested for by 3 participants from Ogun, Ekiti and Oyo States.
After rigorous electoral processes, which started with a manifesto from various aspirants, Surveyor Kunle Ogunbadewa emerged winner of the post of Deputy President with 834 votes representing 50 percent of the general votes.
Surveyor Akin- Ajayi Emmanuel emerged as the Secretary General of the Board of Fellow while Mrs Titilola Ajayi was nominated as Assistant Secretary for SWAN.
Speaking on the election, the Chairman of NIS Ogun State Chapter, Surveyor Abiodun Liadi and Chairman Association of Practising Surveyors Ogun State Chapter, Surveyor Kayode Adekoya while eilogising the impact of Ogun State Chapter of NIS nationally, appreciated God for the success of their members saying the victory was for Ogun State at large
According to the constitution guiding the Institution, the Deputy President automatically becomes the National President in the next 2 years
Responding, the Deputy President elect, Surveyor Kunle Ogunbadewa appreciated God for the victory and pledged his readiness to take the institution to higher level nationally.
In the same vein, Surveyor Dayo Folarin came first in the first ever NIS Golf Tournament 2025.
