OGSG CHARGES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL MEMBERS ON TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY



Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Ademola Balogun has charged newly Sworn-in Officers of the Ogun State Community Development Council (OGSCDC) and Senatorial Community Development Committees(SCDCs) to imbibe the culture of  transparency, probity and accountability as enshrined in the practice of the council.


Balogun gave the charge during the Swearing-in of the new Executive members in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying that their role was critical in the actualisation of the present administration’s community development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents.


He enjoined them to ensure that the activities of Community Development Councils were in line with the vision of the Prince Dapo Abiodun ‘s administration to improve development in communities across the State.


Speaking, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, Arc. Oluranti Oresile said government remained committed to the progress of communities, admonishing the new Executives to be united in goals and work hand in hand to fulfill the mandate for which they were voted for.


In his remarks,Director of Cooperative Services, Mr. Samuel Mustapha, while commending the Council Executives and members for the success recorded so far, said they were the bridge between the government and members of their communities, affirming that the efforts of CDCs across the State had made the goal of bringing the government closer to the people 


Earlier, Director of Community Development, Mr. Olanrewaju Fayoyin commended the past Executives for their contributions and peaceful transition of power to the new Council members as well as committee, promising that the Ministry would be available to provide support where and when necessary.


In his acceptance speech, newly elected Chairman of the Council, High Chief Adetayo Adefemi, appreciated the State government through the Ministry for making the election a success, assuring that the Council would  ensure exemplified transparency and development across communities.


Appreciating,  Secretary of the Council, Mr. Sangosina Adams, thanked  the State government on behalf of other members, while commending the Ministry for  its efforts at ensuring the smooth running of the Council, promising  to put their time and resources to good use to take Community Development to a greater height.
