Barrister Femi Adeleke Ogunbanwo (Omo-Iwa), Member of the House of Representatives for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, has once again voiced his strong support for the creation of Ijebu State.
Omo-Iwa joined other distinguished Nigerians of Ijebu origin at the Nigerian Senate Zonal Public Hearing on the Constitution Amendment and the Creation of New States.
Historically, the Ijebu people hold a distinct and legitimate claim to statehood, being the only major pre-independence province in Nigeria yet to be granted a state of their own.
The creation of Ijebu State is not just a political aspiration — it is a matter of justice, equity, and fairness.
Omo-Iwa urges all sons and daughters of Ijebuland, both at home and in the diaspora, to rally behind this noble cause. He calls for unified support in making Ijebu State a reality under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and in line with the long-standing vision of the revered Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
In his words: "Ijebu State Now Now! Noin Noin!"
