Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu is billed to depart Abuja on Friday, July 18, for Kano to console with the family of the late businessman, Aminu Dantata.
The special adviser to the president on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga made this disclosure on X.
Onanuga in a statement said, Tinubu will leave Abuja today for Kano State.
However, he did not state when the president is due to return to the capital city after visiting the Dantata family.
Onanuga said, “President Tinubu will depart Abuja today for Kano to condole with the Kano State Government and the family of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who passed away in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on June 28.”
President Tinubu was out of the country at the time of Dantata’s passing but directed some of his ministers, led by the Defence Minister, to attend the burial in Saudi Arabia as a mark of honour for the late nonagenarian,” he noted.
Recall that Dantata, an uncle to Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote died at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The businessman and philanthropist was buried at the Al-Baqi Cemetery in the holy city of Madina, Saudi Arabia, on July 1.
He was buried beside his wife, a request which the family said the late Danatata made before his passing.
