SAGAMU LG COMMISSIONS ROAD, OTHER LEGACY PROJECTS TO PROMOTE WELL-BEING

 


The Chairman, Sagamu Local Government Area, Hon. Jubril Odulate has disclosed that the commissioning of all the legacy projects, reiterated the commitment of the present administration in delivering more dividends of democracy to the people across the state.

Hon. Odulate represented by the Vice Chairman, Ho. Isiaka Salami stated this at the commissioning of Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Omani’s Townhall, Remodelling of Legislative Chamber and Reconstructed Sode road, Sabo in the council area.

Hon. Odulate appreciated the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his unflinching support for good governance and for the overall socio- economic development of the community, saying that the level of infrastructural development being enjoyed during his administration was unprecedented and highly appreciated.

“Our Governor is a responsive and hardworking, we are following his footsteps, we will forever be grateful to him for his foresight and purposeful leadership, the level of infrastructure we are enjoying during his time is unprecedented and quite appreciated,” he said.

He noted that the projects being commissioned was a promise kept to reflect his administration’s responsiveness to the need of the people and in fulfillment of his electioneering campaign to deliver impactful infrastructure to the good people of Sagamu, adding that the road would ease vehicular and human movement in the area.

“This road serves as alternative route to the bustling Sabo market, one of the economic lifelines of the Local Government had long been in a deplorable state making accessibility difficult to both traders and commuters, we have prioritised its reconstruction to improve the socio economic development of the area thereby enhancing the wellbeing of the people. Now that Sode road is now operational, attention would be shifted to other key areas in need of similar intervention,” he said.

Similarly, the Chairman appreciated the Late Deputy Chief Whip, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga for remodeling the Town hall and provision of an Information Technology center for the purpose of empowering the youths in IT training, saying the Town hall and High Court road were named after her in recognition of her contributions and supports during her lifetime.

In a related development, Hon. Odulate said that the Legislative Chamber was being remodeled to enhance the performance of the legislative council, saying that would further instill the sense of belonging in them.

In his response, the Leader of the House, Hon. Babalola Kolawole appreciated the Chairman for the gesture, promising their unalloyed support for the executive towards achieving successful tenure.

In his goodwill message, BAALE, Ewuga community, Sunday Oso thanked the government for immortalising the late Deputy Chief Whip, Federal House of Representatives. Hon. Onanuga, praying for God's guidance for the Governor and other political appointees.

In a separate interview with some of the residents of Sode Street, Esther Ogundijan, Abiola Oyedeji and Chisom Victor appreciated the government for rehabilitating Sode road to enhance socio economic development of the area, which they said would improve the wellbeing of the people, pledging their support for government’s policies and programmes in the state.
