A retiring Permanent Secretary in the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi has received encomium within and outside the state Civil Service.
This indication emerged during a retirement get- together in honour of Mrs. Ogunremi, at the TESCOM premises, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta.
Speaking, Chairman in the Commission, Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu, described her as a conscientious Civil Servant, who never took her work for granted.
Apostle Sanyaolu, represented by Commissioner II in the Commission, and Chairman Organizing Committee for the event, Hon. Moruf Adesegun, said Mrs. Ogunremi had displayed a sense of responsibility, humility and steadfastness within the short time he had worked with her.
“Mrs. Ogunremi is a thoroughbred Civil Servant, who knows her onion. Her interpersonal relationship with Board members, management staff and the entire staff is uncommon,” he stated.
In his part, the Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evang. Olalekan Ifede, eulogised the retiring Permanent Secretary for her professional ingenuity in the discharge of her statutory responsibility.
Ifede, who was the immediate past Chairman of TESCOM, congratulated the PS and prayed for her long life and good health.
Speaking on behalf of other Permanent Secretaries at the event , the Permanent Secretary, Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olu. Ola Aikulola, described her as a woman of integrity, who was committed to her duties.
Aikulola, said the celebrant was worthy of emulation in attitude and character, noting her dedication made her to stand out among others.
In her remarks, the celebrant, Mrs. Ogunremi, appreciated God for preserving her life for attaining the peak of her career and witnessing her retirement hale and hearty.
She commended the relationship enjoyed from her co- Civil Servants, colleagues, family members, friends and well-wishers, urging the Civil Servants to continue to be dutiful, Godly and endeavour not to pull others down.
Mrs. Ogunremi joined the Civil Service of Ogun State in November 1992, rose through the ranks and was appointed as Permanent Secretary in year 2019.
Other dignitaries at the event were TESCOM Board members, Permanent Secretaries, Principals- General, Zonal Secretaries, representatives of All Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools ( ANCOPSS), Association of Tourism Practitioner of Nigeria ( ATP), among others.
