According to the leadership of the State House of Assembly, Udemezue posted “damaging content” on his social media account.

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Udemezue had alleged that his constituency was being marginalised in the area of constituency allowance.

The resolution first passed on Tuesday followed a matter of urgent public importance moved by the member representing Aguata 2 Constituency, Tony Muobike.

The resolution was further seconded by the Chief Whip and the member representing Ihiala 1 Constituency, Jude Ngobili.

In his reaction, Somtochukwu Udeze, the speaker of the House having presided over last Tuesday’s plenary referred the matter to the House Committee on Rules, Businesses, Ethics and Privileges.

The committee, according to the speaker, was expected to report back to the House on Tuesday (this week).

And at the plenary on Tuesday, August 26, the House passed the resolution to suspend the lawmaker for three months.
