Executive Chairman, Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), Mr. Olugbenga Olaleye has charged members of the Inspectors of Tax Forum (ITF) to distinguish themselves in the discharge of their duties in order to achieve remarkable revenue growth for the agency.

He gave this charge during a meeting with the team in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying that tax professionals must make themselves relevant in today’s dynamic environment.

Olaleye pointed out that certificate qualifications alone were not sufficient to be a thoroughbred on the job, but personal growth and continuous training   would serve as added advantage to the organisation, while urging officers to remain hardworking and committed in discharging their duties.

 Olaleye said “Humility is an important virtue you need to embrace in all that you do. Also, ask for wisdom and the spirit of discernment to be able to unravel mysteries,”.

The chairman pledged his full support for the bi-monthly training of officers, noting that it would equip them to perform effectively, encouraging officers to keep an open mind, learn, grow and find fulfilment in their service.

Earlier, Coordinating Director, Mr. Taiwo Ogundimu commended the chairman for his leadership role and technological innovations he introduced, saying the approval of regular training and professional examinations had paved the way for revenue growth.

He stressed that the bi-monthly training would enable officers to align with new ideas, especially in preparation for the forthcoming Tax Reforms Bill, scheduled to take effect in January 2026.

 In his contribution, Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Olusegun Akinfaiye advised professionals not to neglect the collective growth of the service in the pursuit of their personal career development.
