BE DEDICATED TO DUTY, SUBEB BOSS CHARGES STAFFERS

Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, has charged Public and Civil servants in the State to remain committed to their responsibilities.

Ifede made the call during a retirement ceremony of Chief Confidential Secretary, Mrs. Adenike Animasaun and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Olawunmi Odunsi, who both retired after 35 years of meritorious service, at the Board’s Conference Room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The SUBEB boss emphasised that retirement celebration was not automatic, but must be earned through hard work and diligence. He congratulated the retirees for their remarkable service and encouraged them to prioritise their health as they begin a new chapter in life.

“You have given your best to the service of the Board. We celebrate your hard work, commitment and professionalism,” he said.

Ifede urged staffers to see recognition of retirees as motivation, so that officers would put in their best and contribute meaningfully to the development of Ogun State, while complementing the efforts of Governor Dapo Abiodun, for prioritising the welfare of workers.

Also speaking, Permanent Member I, Barr. Femi Odufowokan; Permanent Member III, Hon. Abiodun Ajayi; and Permanent Member IV, Rt. Hon. Akeem Balogun, all stressed the importance of planning for retirement while in service. They congratulated the retirees for achieving a smooth transition from active service.

In his remarks, Board Secretary, Mr. Olubori Akinleye, described retirement as a ‘new beginning’ calling on staff to sustain the culture of celebrating excellence.

Responding, the retirees, Mrs. Animasaun and Mrs. Odunsi, expressed gratitude to God, the Board and their colleagues for the honour and advice, promising not to take them for granted.
