A former Ogun state House of Assembly, who also doubled as Chairman Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Prince Suraj Ishola Adekumbi has assured workers of the Commission, and House of Assembly that the Commission is ever ready to collaborate with the mainstream in achieving set goals.
Adekumbi made the assurance in Abeokuta, the state capital, at the induction/training programme for the newly recruited officers to the Commission, noting that the collaboration is imperative in ensuring growth and development between the House and State Executive Arm of government.
He enjoined the officers to justify their recruitment in the service as a will of God and service to their father’s land, saying that many had no such opportunities to the employment and contribute their quota meaningfully well to the Commission.
“Indeed, it is an opportunity for you to be staff of the commission, so, you need to contribute your expertise and knowledge to the growth and development of the commission and the state government at large, so as to justify your recruitment,” Adekumbi said.
The Ex Speaker applauded the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the approval of both recruitment and the Induction of the newly officers, saying that it was a blessing to the Executive and Legislative arms.
In his remarks, the Head of Service of the State, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya
enjoined the inductees to live a life of accountability and transparency in service, saying that it was a grace for them to be shortlisted among the many applicants that applied for the jobs.
"You have been called into a noble job that needs total dedication, so you must be well guided by the books and see your employment as a call to service and duty", the HoS said.
On behalf the Permanent Secretaries from Civil Service Commission and Local Government and Pension, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Establishment and Training, stated that this collaboration was first of its kind in the history of the Civil Service, saying that the training was necessary to foster quality and efficiency in the civil service delivery.
She admonished the new officers to abide by the rules and regulations, adding that there were various rules to guide them in the service for effective performance such as Civil Service, Public service and financial rules.
In his vote of thanks, the Executive Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Opaleye enjoined members of staff to ensure professionalism while discharging their duties and be punctual at work at all time.
Opaleye noted that staffers should work hard to justify their salaries while contributing to the growth of the State.
Appreciating the Governor for the employment opportunity, some of the newly recruited, an administrative officer, Mr. Olufemi Kadiri and Information Officer/Public Relations Officers, Miss. Feyisara Olaleye assured their professionalism in the legislative arm and Ogun State government.
