Youths in Ogun State, have been urged to take advantage of the ongoing free 90 Regular intake for Trades/Non-trades men and women recruitment into the Nigerian Army, as it will improve their lives uprightly and economically, thereby restraining them from any form of criminality.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the office of the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the team lead, Nigerian Army Headquarters Recruitment, Brigadier General Adeleye Lawal, said the visit was to create awareness, sensitise and encourage youths from the South West and South South Regions about the opportunities available in the Nigerian Army.
Lawal expressed his displeasure on youth’s participation in illegal activities which include cybercrime, kidnapping, cultism, rape among others, admonishing them to complete the online application process via https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
He outlined several key entry qualifications, including; that applicants must be single, Nigerian citizens by birth and must possess both National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) slips, must also meet Medical, Physical and psychological fitness standards set by the Nigerian Army.
He outlined further that there should be no criminal record and must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years for non-tradesmen and women, while tradesmen and women must not be more than 26 years of age, among others.
In his remarks, Permanent Secretary, in the Bureau, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, expressed appreciation for the team’s transparency in addressing misconceptions about military life and the recruitment process, assuring them of the State government’s commitment to collaborating with them in order to adequately streamline the recruitment exercise.
Reaffirming the unwavering commitment of the Prince Dapo Abiodun’s led administration in supporting youths in the State. Mr. Saka highlighted engagement of not less than 4,000 youths into teaching job through Ogun Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OgunTEACh), who were given permanent appointments, digital training for youths and provision of grants to support their agricultural businesses which were some of the strides of the present administration to upgrade their standards of living.
He therefore enjoined youths in the State to maximise the opportunity by visiting the employment site for application and necessary registration procedure.
At the end of the courtesy visit, an award presentation to acknowledge the State's government cooperation with the Army was presented to Ogun State, on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff.
