OGUN GOVT COMMENDED FOR BRINGING DEVELOPMENT TO THE GRASSROOT

 


The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, has commended the State government for the all-inclusive participatory meeting geared towards gathering of inputs for the  proposed 2026-2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) , which took place at the Akarigbo Palace, Sagamu.


Akarigbo, who opened the floor of the meeting, described it as a welcome idea where government would have firsthand information about the yearnings, aspirations and needs of the people which would aid their inclusion in the proposed 2026 budget, thus making governance easier and accessible to the grassroot.


Oba Ajayi commended the present administration for the strides made so far in terms of Infrastructural development in Remoland, noting that, their significance


would have a far reaching effect on commerce, transportation and employement generation, while appealing for the rehabilitation of some other major roads in Remoland, just as he sought for  support for the local security "vigilante" who he were doing their job diligently.


Speaking on behalf of the 3 Local Governments Chairmen that made up Remoland, Sagamu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Jubril Odulate, thanked Prince Dapo Abiodun for the rehabilitation of Aiyepe road, as well as Ode-lemo road amongst others.   He however appealed to the State Government for an overhead bridge on Oba-Erinwole junction to Ewuoliwo, where he described as a volatile area because of the express interception.


Also making their contributions, religious leaders that included CAN  Chairman, Rev Ogunjoju and Deputy Chief Imam of Remoland, Alhaji Munirudeen Thabit, urged the government to employ more teachers for religious subjects in schools, provide free foods for pupils to alleviate the suffering of the people in the harsh economy and also hand out more sponsorship for intending pilgrims for both   hajj and Jerusalem.


Speaking on behalf of People with Disabilities (PWD), Engr. Oluwaseyi Adesiyan, lauded the present administration for sustaining the Town Hall meeting, expressing hope that Government would implement the Disability Law and promote insurance health benefits that would ensure their well-being.


Contributing on behalf of students, a representative from Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Sapade, Comrade Ola Owoeyo, requested for the provision of school buses to alleviate the suffering of students and for government intervention in the area of adequate security of lives and property in the axis.


In her contribution, the Vice President, Ogun State National Council of Women Society (NCWS), Mrs. Omotola Kadiri, implored the government to include women's budget in the year 2026 budget and organise more empowerment programmes for women.


The meeting was considered to be an avenue where inputs, contributions among other salient issues on socio economic development were discussed towards ensuring  a robust and implementable budget in 2026.
