The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun has reiterated her unwavering commitment and dedication to the development of Epe youth, saying this has been the driving force behind her venture into partisan politics.
Princess Animashaun made this declaration during an interactive session with Epe Local Government Council Youth, held at her office, Ita-Marun, Epe, Lagos state.
She revealed how her generous initiatives have already left significant impacts on the lives of Nigerian youth, particularly those in Epe LG Area of Lagos state.
She, however, said she still believes that she could do more for the youth through her involvement in politics, especially as the Chairperson of the local government council of the state.
Princess Animashaun who spoke on her involvement in the tourism activities, also recalled her history of vocal advocacy for the liberation of youths from the oppressive tendencies of various hardship, which she said ultimately motivated her entry into politics after establishment of tourism sector.
According to her, “I have the history of organising people for tourism activities, in order to boost their involvement or engaging them on works, to also advocate for youth’s liberation from being idle and unemployed.
"However, recognising the limitations of searching for white-collar jobs by our youths, so, I decided to join a political party with the intention of effecting change through good governance.”
Princess Animashaun said that she had already positively impacted millions of people through philanthropic deeds, empowerment programmes and expressed a fervent desire to expand these efforts through his political platform.
She said her ultimate goal is to extend humanitarian assistance, and youths empowerment to every nook and crannies of Epe division, noting that it was imperative to engage them on one job or the other, so as to be self-reliant.
Princess Animashaun took a critical stance on the prevalent practices within some political parties, where power is often concentrated in the hands of a selected few, leading to the exclusion of many.
