The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has complied with the directive of the Federal High Court in Abuja to begin his defence in the terrorism case filed against him by the Federal Government.
Kanu is currently submitting his defence documents inside the courtroom, in line with the order of Justice James Omotosho.
The judge had directed the temporary relocation of the court registry to his courtroom to enable Kanu file the necessary processes, following multiple complaints raised by the defendant.
Counsel for the Federal Government, Adegboyega Awomolo, told the court that he would receive the documents directly from Kanu in the courtroom and respond accordingly.
As of the time of filing this report, the defence filing was still in progress, with the judge standing down proceedings for one hour.
Kanu had previously declined to open his defence, insisting that he must first be shown the specific terrorism law he is alleged to have violated.
