OGUN COMMISSIONS LG PROJECTS IN ABIGI



In a concerted effort to foster development across local communities, the Ogun State Government has commissioned new projects at the grassroots in the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.

Representing the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, at the commissioning ceremony, the Special Adviser for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Rasak Daddah, lauded the Chairman of Ogun Waterside Local Government Area, Hon. Odunnoiki Abdulganiyu, for the execution of these projects. He emphasised that each initiative was strategically targeted to meet specific needs of the people.

"I must clearly State that, in my assessment, the level of progress is commendable. Ogun Waterside Local Government is fortunate to have a responsive Chairman and I encourage the community to support him in fulfilling his mandate," he said.

He noted that effective governance begins at the grassroots level, where the government directly engages with the populace, adding that tangible impacts were realized. He expressed gratitude to the Governor and local communities for their support, pledging to continue in delivering quality projects.

Also speaking, the Ojotumoro of Abigi, Oba Ogunye Olusegun, expressed appreciation to the Chairman for his commendable efforts, urging the community to utilise the completed projects effectively.

The commissioning team unveiled several projects, which included; a renovated skill acquisition centre and public toilet at Ilusin Grammar School; a refurbished garri warehouse at Ajebo Market, Makun-Omi; the reconstructed jetty platform at Igbo-Edu Wharf; 18 reconstructed lock-up shops at Abigi market and graded feeder roads connecting farms and communities.

Additionally, the team commissioned a newly constructed building with 8 lock-up shops at Abigi Motor Park; 5 solar-powered boreholes in Efire, Makun-Omi, Ibiode, Ayede and Itabu towns; the renovated toilet facility at Ajebo Market, Makun- Omi; as well as the purchased engine and tyres for the local government grader.
