- Sends Season Greetings and Appreciation to Members

Egbe Degbuyi Remo, a foremost socio-cultural age-grade group in Remoland, has extended its warmest felicitations to the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale AJAYI, CFR, (Torungbuwa II), all Remo Royal Fathers, and sons and daughters of Remoland on the celebration of the 2025 Remo Day.
The group also congratulated His Excellency, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, CON, the Governor of Ogun State and an illustrious son of Remoland, on the successful hosting of the historic celebration.
The week-long event, which culminates today, Saturday, December 27, 2025, celebrates the rich socio-cultural heritage, vibrant spirit, and enduring unity of the Remo people.
In a statement signed by the Giwa Egbe, Gbuyi Saheed Olawale OLOYEDE, on behalf of the Giwa-in-Council, Executive Council, and entire members of Egbe Degbuyi Remo, and made available to the press by the Public Relations Officer, Gbuyi Omoba Yinka OKUNOREN, the group described Remo Day as a unifying platform that reinforces shared identity, collaboration, and collective progress.
“On behalf of the Giwa-in-Council, comprising the Otun Giwa Egbe, Gbuyi (Dr.) Ariyo ABIJO, and the Osi Giwa, Gbuyi (Engr.) Ismail BALOGUN, the Executive Council, and all members of Egbe Degbuyi Remo, I felicitate Your Royal Majesty, our revered traditional rulers, including our patrons, and the entire people of Remoland on this auspicious occasion,” Giwa OLOYEDE stated.
He noted that Remo Day provides an avenue for all Remo indigenes and communities to come together in unity and mutual respect, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving shared developmental goals.
The Giwa also commended the Ogun State Government, organizers, and participants for their dedication toward the success of the celebration, while expressing appreciation to members of Egbe Degbuyi Remo for their steadfast support and cooperation.
“Egbe Degbuyi Remo is proud to be part of Remo’s journey toward unity and progress. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote development and celebrate our shared heritage,” the statement added.
The group reaffirmed its readiness to continue collaborating with the Remo community and relevant stakeholders on initiatives aimed at sustainable development across the zone.
Egbe Degbuyi Remo further prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity for the Akarigbo, all Remo monarchs, and indigenes at home and in the diaspora.
Meanwhile, the Giwa has also extended season’s greetings and words of appreciation to members of the association for the 2025 Christmas celebration and in anticipation of the year 2026.
In an earlier statement released during the week, Giwa OLOYEDE described Christmas as a season of love, unity, sacrifice, and compassion; values that continue to guide the group’s commitment to building a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous society.
As members prepare to welcome the new year, he prayed for renewed hope, good health, improved opportunities, and sustainable development across Remoland, while thanking various committees and subcommittees for their dedication, support, and partnership in advancing the group’s vision and people-centered development agenda.
