The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON and the Leaders of the House of Representatives, National Assembly have congratulated the Honourable Member representing Ijebu-Ode/Odogbolu/Ijebu North East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Olufemi Ogunbanwo, OMO-IWA on the occasion of the 50th Memorial Thanksgiving in honour of his late father, Pa. Amos Ayodele Ogunbanwo (IWA).
The late Pa. Amos Ayodele Ogunbanwo ,the father of Hon. Olufemi Ogunbanwo died in 1975 when the House of Rep. Member was just 8 years old.
Gov. Abiodun, in a letter personally signed by him, rejoiced with Hon. Ogunbanwo and family on the solemn reflective event. The Governor acknowledged the enduring legacy of Pa. Ogunbanwo life whose noble values of integrity, diligence, and service to humanity reflected in the character, leadership, and public service life of OMO-IWA as a worthy son and representative of the people
The Governor specifically lauded Ogunbanwo's sterling values of public service rooted in humility, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility and good moral foundation.
The Governor commended Hon. Ogunbanwo for choosing to celebrate the memorial occasion by bringing back to the society through award of bursary to 300 indigent students of higher learning, which according to the Governor is a laudable investment in education and human capital development.
The Governor further commended OMO-IWA for the initiative to empower 200 widows, which demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of the social responsibilities of leadership.
In the same vein, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. ( Dr.)Tajudeen Abass, GCON, his Deputy, Rt. Hon (Dr.) Benjamin Kalu, CFR; Rep O.K Chinda, the House of Rep Minority Leader and Rt. Hon. (Dr.). Ibrahim Isiaka, the House Deputy Chief Whip, in their separate letters commended Hon. Ogunbanwo steadfast commitment to sustain the good deeds of his late father. According to them, the lofty initiative to channel the memorial service to touch lives and uplift the community is to extend the impact of his late father beyond the years he walked on the earth.
In memory, of his late father, Hon. Ogunbanwo and family have organized a special Thanksgiving Service to be held at St. John Anglican Church, Ilado-Ijebu on Saturday 27th December, 2025.
Thereafter, there will be Award of Bursary to 300 indigent students of higher institutions and empowerment of 200 widows at a ceremony to be held at Samson Afolabi Anglican Church Hall, GRA Ijebu-Ode
