The Legislative arm of Sagamu Local Government has sought for collaboration with security experts individuals who are security conscious in that sector to further strenghten security within the local government area.
Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Oluwakayode Babalola made the appeal at the plenary sitting of the Honourable members of the Legislative Council.
Hon. Babalola noted that security is everyone’s responsibility, especially during festive seasons when miscreants would always take opportunity, calling on them to report any suspicious movement promptly.
He maintained that proactive measures, community participation were critical to effective security management, bidding on security experts, community leaders, market unions, youths, security agencies to collaborate closely to forestall any breach of peace in order to achieve a peaceful celebration.
Speaking at the sitting, Hon. Soneye Joshua, representing ward 15 and Hon. Adebayo Abayomi harped more on ensuring adequate security, while appreciating the Executive Chairman, Ogbeni Jubril Odulate for the various developmental projects embarked upon and his support to ensure a peaceful and safe community, solicited his continued support to curb the infliteration of Fulanis who disguised as okada riders to disturb the peace in the community, calling on the Executive arm to provide more street lights to illuminate areas where hoodlums were susceptible to hide and perpetuate crimes.
While speaking on environmental issues, majority leader, Hon. Adekunle Folarin, expressed displeasure at the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainages and waterways across the Council Area and traders extending the frontage of their shops which had barricaded major roads, advising that, the act must stop to forestall flooding.
Speaking at the sitting, Hon. Oduyebo Micheal representing ward 9, Odelemo said that all roads leading to Odelemo were not motorable, requesting the the Executive Chairman to extend his gesture to the area in order to make life and living meaningful to the residents of the area.
In his remarks, Hon. Nazir Oluwadamilare showered encomiums on the Chairman for the renovation of the Legislative Chamber to Ogun standard, while looking forward for other incentives.
