Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, says his administration has constructed and rehabilitated 1,067 schools across the State through interventions of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in the last five years.

Governor Abiodun made this known while presenting the 2026 Appropriation Bill, tagged ‘Budget of Sustainable Legacy’, before the Ogun State House of Assembly at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, disclosing that, his government had also commenced a new infrastructure upgrade scheme known as the Ogun State Rehabilitation of Halls and Academic Buildings (OgunREHAB), designed to provide rapid response to natural disasters and address infrastructure deficits in schools.

“In the coming year, we hope to intervene through Ogun REHAB in about 500 schools and improve on all other educational facilities,” he assured.

Abiodun added that, comprehensive renovations had been ongoing across the State’s tertiary institutions, covering lecture theatres, laboratories, libraries, hostels and other critical facilities, noting that the interventions were aimed at creating enabling environment for effective teaching, robust research and meaningful learning.

The Governor further highlighted that his administration had strengthened the Education Management Information System (EMIS) to enhance educational planning and had rehabilitated science laboratories in selected public secondary schools.
