The First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, has Commended Adeola Azeez Community Care Foundation (AACCF) for donating a fully equipped Technology Hub to Emmanuel Anglican Primary School, Italupe, Ijebu-Ode, as part of its commitment to promoting digital literacy and expanding access to quality education at the grassroots level.
The newly launched tech hub was fitted with modern computers, internet facilities and other learning tools designed to introduce pupils to basic Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills at early stage. He explained that the initiative was aimed at bridging the digital divide and preparing young learners for a technology-driven future.
Mrs. Abiodun emphasised that government could not achieve sustainable development alone, describing the initiative as heartwarming to see individuals and organisations like AACCF giving back to society through impactful interventions.
“This Tech Hub is a testament to what is possible, when private initiative meets public need. What we see here today is not just a room full of computers but a gateway to the future,” the First Lady said.
Also speaking, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako Oyedele, said that the initiative would help bridge the digital divide at the basic education level and ensure that pupils in public schools were not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital world.
Speaking at the event, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mrs. Adeola Azeez, described the tech hub as more than just a room filled with computers, noting that it represents a clear statement that access to technology was not a privilege but a right.
She further explained that many pupils in public primary schools across Ogun State learn about computers only in theory without ever having practical exposure.
“I have met children who can perfectly recite the parts of a computer yet have never used one. This Tech Hub changes that reality. Now, these children can touch a computer and learn not just about technology, but through technology,” she added.
The donor also disclosed that two additional tech hubs were set to be established in other public primary schools in Ogun State, including St. James United Primary School, Mobalufon, Odogbolu and Baptist Primary School, Ogbogbo, Ijebu North-East.
Earlier, Head Teacher of Emmanuel Anglican Primary School, Mr. Oso Lawrence, expressed deep appreciation to the Foundation for the kind gesture towards the school.
