The family of Late Alhaji Abdulateef Ejalonibu of Mamu, Ijebu in Ijebu North Local Government has distributed food items and cash donations to Widows, the indigent and people of the Mamu community as part of the family tradition over the years.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Alhaja Salimot Ahmed (nee Ejalonibu) said the gesture was to sustain the legacies of their late father who in his lifetime convene the gathering every year to give back to his community.
Alhaja Ahmed and his brother, Alhaji Nasirudeen Ejalonibu who took over from their father as the Mamu Ijebu said always the wish of their to help his people in anyway he could including creating wealth for them maintaining that the gesture was aimed at sustaining the legacies of their father who was great community leader who was selfless in serving his people at different levels, politically and socially.
Also speaking, Special Assistant to the Governor, Office of the SSG, Dr. Murtala Ejalonibu who is also a son to the late Chief Ejalonibu, opined that the annual distribution has become a significant event in Mamu, providing essential support to those in need adding that the Ejalonibu family's continued dedication to this tradition highlights the importance of community spirit and the enduring impact of charitable giving. This act of kindness serves as a testament to Alhaji Abdulateef Ejalonibu's memory and inspires a continued culture of compassion within the community.
Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mrs Iyabo Sotayo opined that "had they have two or more persons like the late Chief Ejalonibu, Mamu would have become greater than it is, praying for the continued prosperity of the Ejalonibu family.
