Chairman of Sagamu Local Government Area, Ogbeni Jubril Odulate, has presented a total of N14, 161,925 000.00 to the Legislative Council as the proposed budget for the year 2026.
Speaking at the Legislative chamber of the council in Sagamu, the Chairman said that the budget tagged, ‘Budget of Hope’, had in its allocation a sum of N 2.605BN as recurrent and N 5.654BN as capital expenditure, adding that, the sum of N1.935bn would go for personnel cost, N 5.629BN for CRFC, while N941, 900m would be spent on overhead cost.
The LG Boss explained that an estimated amount of N314,060m would be drawn from the council Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), N1bn grant from the State government while N 12,179bn would be from the statutory allocation provided by the Federal government.
“This Budget of Hope is a reflection of our commitment to better the lives of our people, which is the vision of the present administration, that is why the Governor has been very supportive in improving the lives of our citizens as well as driving progress in our communities and we cannot go for anything less,’’ he said.
Ogbeni Odulate, reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritise infrastructural development to enhance transportation and economic activities, saying that dividend of democracy would be widened to improve all sectors and creative initiative would be welcomed to empower the people, provide school materials and enhance security measures in the communities.
He appreciated the legislative arm for their dedication, promising not to rest on his oars to ensure continuous access to dividend of democracy.
Responding, Leader of the House, Hon. Oluwakayode Babalola, commended the Chairman for his developmental stride, promising that the budget would receive accelerated consideration and speedy passage into law for the interest of the people.
