The Member of the House of Representatives representing Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North East Federal Constituency, Hon. Olufemi Adeleke Ogunbanwo (Omo-Iwa), has commenced the construction and renovation of selected school buildings across the constituency a gesture aimed at improving learning conditions for pupils and teachers.
The renovation projects cover St. Luke Primary School, Imodi-Ijasi, Moraika Comprehensive High School, and St Michael's Primary School Ododeyo in Ijebu North East LGA.
The intervention focuses on construction of new structure, upgrading dilapidated classrooms, repairing damaged roofs, improving ventilation and creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
Speaking during an inspection at one of the project sites, Hon. Ogunbanwo described education as a critical foundation for community development, emphasizing that children deserve safe and comfortable classrooms to enhance academic performances.
He noted that the initiative forms part of his commitment to delivering people-oriented projects and addressing pressing needs at the grassroots
“Our children are the future, and investing in their education is not optional. These renovations are meant to restore dignity to our public schools and motivate both pupils and teachers,” he said.
The federal lawmaker assured constituents that the projects would be closely monitored during and after the construction to ensure quality execution, timely completion, and maintenance
He also hinted at plans for additional educational interventions, including the provision of learning materials and support for teachers.
Recall that Molipa High School in Ijebu Ode, Ogbogbo Baptist Grammar School, Ijebu North East and Ikangba Comprehensive High School Odogbolu Local Government Areas were the previous beneficiaries.
The renovation exercise is expected to be completed in phases, with more schools set to benefit as the project progresses across the constituency.
