STAFFERS COMMENDED FOR OUTSTANDING OUTPUT, MOTIVATED FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE

Staff of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development have been urged to redouble their efforts in the New Year just as they were commended for their outstanding performances in the year 2025

The commendation was given by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPl. Olatunji Odunlami, during an assemble with staffers of the Agency in Abeokuta, describing the gathering as an avenue to unwind, access and evaluate the success recorded in the past year.

He pointed out that the ministry surpassed its 2024 budget by over 150 percent, a success he credited to the collective efforts of the staff, which calls for an award ceremony to performing unit.

Odunlami explained that the development of an e-platform for planning permit submissions, reviewed regulations, and brand-new building and construction codes are now before the Ogun State House of Assembly, noting that the preparatory stages for automating the planning process and the training and induction of new officers into the system were underway.

The Commissioner therefore charged staffers to redouble their efforts, urging them to outperform 2025 and to continue implementing the vision and mandate of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun.

In his welcome address, Permanent Secretary Engr. Sakirudeen Abdulsalaam said the event was an opportunity for members of staff to enjoy themselves, relax and give thanks to God for life.

In their goodwill messages Commissioners for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Adebola Sofela, Culture and Tourism, Chief Sesan Fagbayi and Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, lauded staffers for their outstanding performances in 2025, urging them to give their best in 2026.

Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of awards of recognition of excellence, while retired officers received cheques for meritorious service.
