Kola Jerry Congratulates Hon. Elegbeji on Tribunal Victory

Evang. Adekola Iyanutisele Awosanya, (Kola Jerry), has congratulated Hon. Adesola Elegbeji on her resounding victory at the National and State House of Assembly Election Tribunal sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, which dismissed the petition challenging her election as the representative of the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency.

The tribunal, in its judgement delivered on Tuesday, February 4, 2026, upheld the preliminary objections raised by counsel to Hon. Elegbeji, Prof. Taiwo Osipitan, SAN, and counsel to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Remi Olatubora, SAN, describing the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate as technically incompetent and lacking merit. The tribunal consequently affirmed Hon. Elegbeji as the duly elected member of the House of Representatives.

In a congratulatory message, Awosanya, an aspirant for the 2027 Ogun State House of Assembly Election, Sagamu II (Makun) State Constituency, described the tribunal’s decision as a well-deserved victory, not only for Hon. Adesola Elegbeji as a lawmaker, but also for the APC as a party and for democracy at large.

“This judgement is a clear vindication of the will of the people expressed at the polls. It affirms that justice, the rule of law, and democratic principles remain strong,” he said.

Awosanya commended Hon. Elegbeji for her resilience, composure, and faith throughout the legal process, noting that her victory further strengthens her mandate to deliver effective and people-oriented representation to the constituents of Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo Federal Constituency.

He also praised Prof. Taiwo Osipitan, SAN, and Dr. Remi Olatubora, SAN, for their legal brilliance, diligence, and professional conduct, describing their courtroom advocacy as exemplary and instrumental to the success of the case.

The Assembly hopeful prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and guidance for Hon. Elegbeji as she continues her legislative duties, wishing her greater accomplishments and impactful service in the National Assembly.

“May her tenure be marked by meaningful contributions, quality legislation, and sustained development for her constituency and the nation,” he added.
