The Olowo Oloye Foundation for Empowerment and Education has announced the sponsorship of another 50 Senior Secondary School (SS 3) students of Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo, for the 2026 external examinations to be conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In 2025, 50 SS 3 students of the school also benefited from the Foundation’s scholarship scheme, which fully covered their registration fees for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations. Following the success of that intervention, the Foundation has completed the compilation of names for another set of 50 eligible students as beneficiaries for the 2026 examination sponsorship.
The Project Coordinator, Mr. Victor Gbolahan OSO, is scheduled to visit the Christ Apostolic Grammar School on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, to formally address parents and the selected students regarding the modalities of the sponsorship scheme.
The scholarship scheme fully sponsored by the Olowo Oloye Foundation for Empowerment and Education under the leadership of its Founder and Chairperson, Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN was deliberately structured to support not only indigent students but also those who have demonstrated seriousness, discipline, and exemplary academic conduct. The initiative reflects a balanced approach that combines need-based support with merit recognition.
As part of the accountability framework, the Foundation has collected the account details of parents of the selected students. Upon authentication of examination registration by the school management, payments will be credited directly into the verified accounts by officials of the designated bank, ensuring transparency and efficiency in disbursement. Each candidate is expected to receive the sum of #80,000 as registration fees for the three examinations, viz, WAEC - #30,000, NECO - #40,000, and JAMB - #10,000.
It will be recalled that at the beginning of the current academic session, over 100 students drawn from three public secondary schools in Iperu-Remo, Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Akesan Community Grammar School, and Ajagbe High School, were awarded scholarships. Beneficiaries received notebooks, school sandals, textbooks, branded school bags, Mathematics kits, and school uniforms.
The Foundation, established four years ago by Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, the first female Accountant General of the Federation, was founded
in memory of her late father, Alhaji Surakat Oyebanjo SANNI (Olowo Oloye), former Seriki Adeen of Iperu.
On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the Foundation celebrated its Founder’s retirement from the federal civil service alongside its third anniversary with a major community outreach, themed “Giving Back to Society.” The event marked three years of impactful work in promoting inclusive access to education, empowerment, and sustainable community development.
Since inception, the Foundation has focused on:
Payment of monthly stipends to elderly women, and entrepreneurship empowerment initiatives targeted at women, farmers, and youths.
Provision of scholarships and school supplies to students in underserved communities.
Organization of literacy programmes and educational workshops.
Skill acquisition and micro-financing support for individuals.
Entrepreneurship capacity building and seed funding.
Advocacy for gender equality and children’s rights.
Community development initiatives including access to clean water and healthcare.
Strategic partnerships with government agencies and international bodies.
During last year’s outreach programme, the Foundation undertook:
A medical outreach providing diagnostic tests and essential healthcare services to over 500 community members.
Presentation of scholarship award letters to beneficiaries from the three public secondary schools for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Distribution of palliative items to vulnerable members of the community.
Additionally, the Foundation sponsored the Akesan Day Celebrations Free Medical Programme in November 2025 and also donated an ICT Centre to Iperu Community.
Expressing her commitment to sustained service, Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, an old Student of Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu, stated:
“Upon my retirement from the federal civil service, I am thrilled to dedicate my time and energy to giving back to society. This intervention programme is part of our commitment to making a positive impact in our community.”
The Foundation reiterates its steadfast commitment to building empowered communities where individuals have access to opportunities that enable them to reach their full potential.
