Christians in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State have expressed joy following the distribution of Rice to churches by the State Government to commemorate the Palm Sunday.
The distribution of the bags of Rice took place at the Cathedral Church of St. Saviours, Itawalajoda, and Foursquare Gospel Church, Ita-Ale, all in Ijebu Ode.
Speaking with Journalists, Reverend Canon Adelakun Samuel of the Cathedral Church of St Saviour, Church expressed deep appreciation to the State government for the timely support, noting that the Rice donation would greatly assist families during the Easter season, just as he prayed for the Governor and the government as a whole.
In the same vein, the District Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Ita-ale, Reverend Adetayo Jokotagba, expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the kind gesture.
“We appreciate the Governor for this gesture especially at this difficult time. For the government to remember the people is commendable, let me therefore use this opportunity to thank Governor Abiodun for the large-heartedness shown to our people through this gift of rice,” he said.
He described the distribution as a thoughtful intervention that would go a long way in supporting households during the Easter celebrations.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs. Tayo Ogunaike and Mr. John Aderinokun, also appreciated the Governor for the Rice palliative, noting that it would surely go a long way to assist them.
